Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Graduate of an accredited two-year program in radiologic technology.
• ARRT registration and NYS DOH Radiology license required.
• BLS required - American Heart Association accepted only.

Responsibilities

• Make decisions and use judgment regarding selection of equipment and best technique in the process of producing radiographs.
• Evaluate patient's condition to assist in emergency treatment.
• Deliver assessment and patient care responsibilities with knowledge of patient growth and development appropriate to the ages of the patients served.
• Perform a variety of technical procedures that require independent judgment and initiative to apply prescribed ionizing radiation for high-quality images.
• Assist physician during fluoroscopy procedures and practice sterile technique to prevent cross-contamination when necessary.
• Perform various types of radiographs from all areas within the hospital, including OR, ER, portables, EP Lab, outpatient/inpatient.
