About The Position

Centered in beautiful Southern California, Adventist Health Simi Valley has been one of the area's leading healthcare providers since 1965. We are comprised of a 144-bed hospital, home care services and a vast scope of award-winning services located throughout Ventura County. Simi Valley is a suburban area nestled between an urban oasis and the stunning shores of the Pacific Ocean. Bordering Los Angeles allows hiking in the morning and attending film premieres in the evening. The position involves operating x-ray equipment to produce radiographs of designated portions of the body as ordered by physicians. The role requires positioning and instructing patients prior to examination, adjusting the x-ray equipment, and determining proper voltage as well as current and desired exposure time for each radiograph.

Requirements

  • Associate's Degree in radiologic technology: Preferred
  • American Registry of Radiologic Technologists – Radiography (ARRT-R): Required
  • Radiologic Tech (RT) in the state of practice: Required in CA and HI
  • Basic Life Support (BLS OR HS-BLS OR RQIBLS) certification: Required
  • Fluoroscopy license in state of employment: Required in CA within 6 months of hire
  • Fluoroscopy (FLUORO): Required

Responsibilities

  • Operates x-ray equipment to produce radiographs of designated portions of body as ordered by physicians.
  • Positions and instructs patients prior to examination.
  • Adjusts the x-ray equipment and determines proper voltage as well as current and desired exposure time for each radiograph.
  • Performs screening procedures for diagnostic interpretation.
  • Explains procedures to patients and answers questions.
  • Prepares equipment for use as needed.
  • Prepares examination rooms for patient exams.
  • Positions patients for imaging exams.
  • Monitors patients and ensures safety during exams.
  • Produces diagnostic images.
  • Documents exam information.
  • Reports important information to the physician.
  • Verifies exams on PACS.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
