About The Position

The Radiologic Technologist Level III position at NYC Health + Hospitals involves responsible clinical and administrative work within the Radiology department. Requirements

  • Valid license and current registration to practice Diagnostic Radiography as a Radiologic Technologist issued by the NYSDOH.
  • Two years of Radiologic Technologist experience performing duties consistent with Assignment Levels I and II, with one year in a supervisory capacity.
  • For specialized imaging assignments, possession of a current advanced-level certification for the performance of these procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Operates x-ray equipment and develops images.
  • Prepares radiological areas, equipment, contrast materials, and supplies for patients.
  • Prepares patients for x-ray, explains procedures, and assists them during the process.
  • Follows prescribed techniques to administer x-rays and adjusts equipment accordingly.
  • Observes patients and machines during procedures, reporting any unusual occurrences.
  • Maintains supplies, equipment, and required records.
  • Transports and uses mobile x-ray equipment as required.
  • Follows safety protocols related to radiation and patient care.
  • Uses electronic medical records (EMR) to document patient encounters.
  • Supervises the delivery of radiological services in accordance with established standards.
  • Recommends changes and improvements for radiological services delivery.
  • Participates in developing training programs for radiographic personnel.
  • Performs radiologic procedures as required, including specialized imaging procedures.
  • Participates in quality assurance activities and coordinates procurement of supplies.
