About The Position

Under general supervision, the Radiologic Technologist II performs a wide range of diagnostic radiographic procedures and provides administrative and operational coordination for the radiology department at the WellCat Health Center (WCHC). The incumbent works independently to produce high-quality radiographs and other diagnostic images using radiology information systems (RIS) and picture archiving and communication systems (PACS). This position makes independent decisions regarding imaging techniques, assesses image quality, determines the need for retakes or additional views, and monitors patients’ conditions during procedures. The Radiologic Technologist II provides technical expertise, ensures compliance with safety and regulatory standards, and contributes to the overall efficiency and quality assurance of the radiology department.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Completion of an accredited program in radiologic technology.
  • At least two years of radiologic experience with progressive responsibility as a certified technologist, or an equivalent combination of education and experience demonstrating the required knowledge and abilities.
  • Valid Certificate of Radiologic Technology issued by the California Department of Public Health, Radiologic Health Branch.
  • Current CPR/AED certification.

  • Experience in a Student or University Health Setting: Preference may be given to candidates with prior experience in a university or student health center or with college-aged populations.
  • Administrative or Departmental Coordination Experience: Preference may be given to candidates who have experience:
  • Organizing daily radiology workflows
  • Managing inventory and equipment maintenance
  • Assisting with departmental reporting, QA, or policy development
  • Providing training, onboarding, or lead work direction
  • Commitment to Continuous Learning: Preference may be given to candidates actively engaged in continuing education, specialized trainings, or other professional development that enhances radiologic competency or patient care quality.
