About The Position

Under the supervision of the department technologist supervisor and clinic physician with latitude for independent judgement, ingenuity and initiative, performs professional duties involved in a variety of technical procedures to apply prescribed ionizing radiation for radiological diagnosis. Assist physicians as requested in the selection of practical application and technical factors. Uses a variety of complex stationery and mobile electronic diagnostic ionizing radiation-production equipment and mechanical accessories, maintains records of x-rays taken and related duties.

Requirements

• Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists prior to the expiration of a temporary LRT license.
• Current and valid license issued by the appropriate State licensing agency for the state in which the individual is practicing as a radiological technologist.
• Current Louisiana State license as a Laboratory Assistant.
• Capable of dealing effectively and ethically with a variety of patients, family members, physicians and personnel under stressful situations.
• Good working knowledge of anatomy, principles of physics and electricity, and methods of exposure to obtain clearly defined films.
