About The Position
The Radiologic Technologist I position at Atrium Health Navicent, within the Diagnostic Radiology: Pediatrics department, is a part-time, as-needed role. This position is responsible for performing and assisting with radiographic and fluoroscopic procedures, documenting patient history, confirming patient identification, preparing and administering contrast media, consulting with radiologists and other physicians, selecting and operating equipment, and maintaining appropriate records. Requirements
- Graduate of an institution accredited by an agency that ARRT recognizes in Radiologic Technology.
- Must be registry eligible with registry completion within 1 year of hire date.
- BLS required.
- Demonstrates knowledge of the principles of growth and development and demonstrates the skills and competency appropriate to the ages, culture, developmental stages, and special needs of the patient population served.
Responsibilities
- Performs and assists with radiographic and fluoroscopic procedures.
- Documents patient history pertaining to specific procedure on requisition submitted by physician.
- Confirms patient identification by verbal confirmation and validating proof of identity.
- Prepares and administers contrast media as required.
- Consults with radiologist and other physicians as necessary.
- Selects and operates equipment as dictated by demands of individual procedure and demonstrates correct and adequate anatomic positioning skills.
- Maintains appropriate records as required by departmental standards.
