TYPICAL DUTIES Develops, designs, and administers a comprehensive radiologic technology student training program; teaches classes in radiographic techniques, procedures and use of equipment, including the hazards of overexposure to radiation and preventive measures; develops lesson plans, tests, visual aids and other instructional materials; oversees instruction and demonstration sessions given by other personnel in technical aspects of radiography and related theory. Recruits students, providing career information through personal appearances, by phone and mail; screens student applications; participates in the selection of students. Coordinates scheduling of students with operational radiological units; coordinates course work of students with Delta College; provides academic counseling as appropriate; observes, evaluates and records performance of students and renders supplemental training as necessary. Keeps informed of technical developments and new instructional techniques through review of literature and attendance at seminars; updates curriculum. Maintains records of student attendance and progress in courses; counsels students, assisting them to find solutions to course-related problems.
