About The Position
A large acute care facility in Central New York is seeking an experienced Radiologic Technologist to perform diagnostic radiographic examinations under the direction of radiologists. The technologist will ensure high-quality imaging, patient safety, and adherence to departmental protocols and radiation safety standards.
Requirements
- Associate degree (A.A.S.) in Radiologic Technology or equivalent
- Current New York State license/registration
- Minimum 1 year experience as a Radiologic Technologist
- Knowledge of imaging equipment operation and radiation safety
- Successful completion of pre-employment health clearance
Responsibilities
- Perform diagnostic radiographic examinations as ordered by physicians
- Greet and properly identify patients prior to procedures
- Explain imaging procedures and ensure patient comfort
- Position patients accurately to obtain optimal image quality
- Select appropriate exposure factors to produce diagnostic-quality images
- Practice radiation safety and protection standards
- Operate imaging equipment efficiently and report equipment malfunctions
- Process images and ensure proper documentation
- Enter patient and exam information into the Radiology Information System (RIS) for documentation and billing
- Follow departmental policies and procedural protocols
