About The Position

The practice of radiography is performed by radiologic technologists responsible for the administration of ionizing radiation to humans of all ages (newborn to geriatric) for diagnostic, therapeutic, or research purposes. A radiographer performs radiographic procedures and related techniques, producing images at the request of and for interpretation by a licensed independent practitioner.

Requirements

• Certification by the American Registry of Radiology Technologists (ARRT).
• BLS certification.
• Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 4 years of experience, or at least 6 years of experience in lieu of the education requirement.
• Team members who reached Clin III status prior to 7.1.2023 are exempt from the educational requirement.

Responsibilities

• Perform all the duties of a Diagnostic Technologist II.
• Lead daily department huddles as assigned.
• Assist with examination protocol and policy review/revisions.
• Perform basic lead technologists' functions such as coordinating work assignments, workflow, and staffing for an assigned shift/area.
• Serve as a clinical or technical resource and provide training.
• Perform Dosimeter Badge coordinator duties where applicable.
• Initiate service calls and follow up until issues are resolved.
• Participate in EOC rounding and TJC tracers alongside department leadership.
• Act as a safety coach and serve on the committee.
• Develop and mentor other learners.
• Contribute to successful modality operations.
• Recognize excellence in coworker performance and avoid disruptive behavior.
• Initiate process improvement discussions with senior leaders.
• Anticipate the needs of patients and coworkers and proactively remove barriers to exceptional customer service and teamwork.
• Perform complex procedures as applicable to your primary area, including Lumbar Punctures, Myelograms, advanced MSK procedures, and procedures involving sterile technique.
• Inventory, order, and track unit supplies using inventory management tools.
