The Radiologic Technologist B CVL (Cardiovascular Lab), practices in a large tertiary academic Children's Hospital with level one trauma designation. Under the general supervision of a Registered Nurse or qualified CVL Radiologic Technologist, performs simple and complex diagnostic and therapeutic invasive cardiovascular procedures in for patients with cardiac dysfunction. Operates the physiologic and radiographic equipment in a safe and efficient manner. Ensures all patient care equipment is calibrated and that operational capabilities are tested consistent with departmental guidelines and regulations. Anticipates potential safety concerns in the environment of care and intervenes appropriately. Participates in educational activities, departmental committees, research projects and other health-related projects as assigned. Provides direction and guidance in the proper use, care and control of material resources; appraises quality and effectiveness of material and equipment and communicates issues to responsible individuals. Provides accurate clinical and billing documentation. Utilizes interpersonal skills to maximize excellence in customer service, safe patient care, and professionalism. Contributes to a work environment of caring and cooperation among culturally diverse workforce and patient population. Performs other duties as needed.
