About The Position

Fairview is hiring a Radiology Technologist to join our Medical Imaging Department at our Masonic Children's Hospital in Minneapolis, MN! This is a .6 FTE (48 hours per 2 week pay period) position. This position will work Mondays and Tuesdays from 11AM - 11PM during Week 1 of pay period and Thursday and Friday 11AM-11PM on Week 2 of pay period. If the majority of your allocated shift hours are worked between 3:00PM - 11:00PM, your hours worked in this shift will receive an additional $6.00 per hour, on top of your base rate & shift differentials. The Radiologic Technologist provides services to patients and physicians through the creation of high-quality diagnostic imaging, provides quality age-appropriate patient care according to established standards of practice, and works collaboratively with all members of the health care team.

Requirements

  • ARRT Certification/Registration
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) - from American Red Cross or American Heart Association and current before date of hire
  • Completion of an accredited radiologic technology program

Nice To Haves

  • 1 year experience as a technologist
  • Experience working with pediatric patients

Responsibilities

  • Maintains patient care
  • Performs examinations
  • Identifies relevant data from images accurately
  • Communicates pertinent data clearly to the appropriate health care professional
  • Participates in creating a culture of patient safety and demonstrates knowledge of emergency preparedness
  • Verifies patient identification and documentation
  • Communicates with and educates patient regarding pertinent information during all aspects of exam
  • Achieves quality diagnostic images through correct patient positioning and use of technical factors according to protocol
  • Ensures patient data integrity
  • Accurately completes computer functions; edits, scheduling, billing, status changes and image transfers in a timely manner
  • Accurate image marking and digital image manipulation and archiving
  • Participates as an active team member
  • Orients and mentors new employees and students
  • Participates in department/facility process/quality improvement initiatives
  • Responsible for personal and professional development to ensure current knowledge required for position
  • Cleans and maintains rooms and supplies
  • Correctly operates equipment according to accepted standards and guidelines
  • Identifies and responds to equipment problems to ensure equipment is working properly
  • Maintains a high level of competency
  • Accepts new technology as it's introduced into the facility
  • Participates in Quality Assurance testing as required by regulatory agencies and/or manufacturer recommendations
  • Demonstrates ability to provide care or service adjusting approaches to reflect developmental level and cultural differences of population served
