About The Position

The position involves assisting physicians in both invasive and non-invasive procedures while adhering to proper sterile techniques. The role requires obtaining and reviewing necessary documentation prior to performing examinations, including physician prescriptions, consent forms, and contrast media questionnaires. Quality control of all exams in the RISynergy system is essential to ensure accurate historical report data. The individual must select appropriate technical factors for each patient to guarantee high-quality diagnostic images while minimizing radiation exposure to patients and co-workers. A thorough understanding of radiographic policies, procedures, equipment, and supplies is required, along with proficiency in operating PACS, RIS, and HIS programs. The role also emphasizes patient education, promoting positive patient relations, and ensuring patient comfort during procedures. Additionally, the position involves careful patient transfer and positioning, strict adherence to identification protocols, and responsiveness to backup calls.

Responsibilities

• Assists physicians in invasive and non-invasive procedures using proper sterile technique.
• Obtains and reviews documentation before performing exams, including physician prescriptions, consent forms, and contrast media questionnaires.
• Quality controls all exams in RISynergy to ensure accurate historical report data.
• Selects proper technical factors for each patient to ensure high-quality diagnostic images while protecting against needless radiation exposure.
• Maintains thorough knowledge of radiographic policies, procedures, equipment, and supplies, as well as the operation of PACS, RIS, and HIS programs.
• Educates patients by explaining the examination process.
• Promotes positive patient relations by making patients comfortable during procedures.
• Transfers and positions patients using proper body mechanics and care.
• Identifies patients using the hospital's double identification policy.
• Responds to backup calls as needed within 30 minutes.
