About The Position

The Radiology Technologist performs radiological procedures on patients in a physician practice office and processes the films/images for interpretation by a Radiologist.

Requirements

  • Minimum: Graduate of an approved Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JRCERT).
  • Minimum: Diagnostic radiology experience
  • Minimum: Radiologic Technologist license valid in the state of Indiana
  • American Registry of Radiologic Technology (ARRT-R)
  • Basic Life Safety (American Heart Association)

Nice To Haves

  • Preferred: Additional modality experience

Responsibilities

  • Adjust equipment for proper exposure in accordance with radiation safety.
  • Perform imaging studies that produce quality images.
  • Be attentive to scheduling and work within allotted time provided for procedures.
  • Explain x-ray procedures with patients and collect data for physician assessment.
  • Position patient for exam/procedure.
  • Determine proper film for x-ray.
  • Process film.
  • Prepare barium solutions or various chemical mixtures and administers to patients as required for their radiologic exams.
  • Maintain radiographic area in a clean, safe, and orderly, well-stocked condition.
  • Assess patient's needs and determine appropriate intervention(s).
  • In the absence of the receptionist, perform necessary clerical functions.
  • Supervise students as required.
  • Other duties as assigned.
