About The Position

The Radiologic/Fluoro Technologist III is a Full Time, Regular position working Friday, Saturday, Sunday 7pm to 7:30am at Sacred Heart Medical Center. This position is eligible for a $5.00 per hour weekend shift differential SIGN ON BONUSES AVAILABLE FOR EXPERIENCED TECHNOLOGISTS!! Summary: Perform General Diagnostic Radiography exams in both an inpatient and outpatient level III trauma setting. Responsible for obtaining the highest quality radiological exams under the direct or indirect supervision of a radiologist per established Inland Imaging guidelines and protocols.

Requirements

  • AA Degree preferred or Military education/training equivalent
  • Accredited Radiologic Technologist Program required
  • Must maintain current Washington State Radiologic Technologist licensure
  • Maintain current ARRT (R)
  • Current CPR/BLS required
  • Must be able to pass a background check required by RCW 43.43.830-840 to work with children under the age of 16, developmentally disabled persons or vulnerable adults
  • Eligible employees must be able to pass a post-offer, pre-employment drug test.

Nice To Haves

  • One year experience preferred
  • Anatomy and medical terminology preferred
  • Medical office experience preferred
  • Understanding of radiologic-fluoro procedures to be read by radiologist preferred
  • Experience with the following computer applications is highly desired: Outlook, Microsoft Office Suite; Workday, Webex; Qgenda, I-Site, Internet/Intranet, EPIC and Medicalis

Responsibilities

  • Performs General Diagnostic Radiography exams proficiently in a hospital setting, including Fluoroscopy procedures, arthrograms, UGI’s, esophograms, and feeding tube placement.
  • Sets up sterile trays for fluoroscopic guided procedures
  • Assists radiologist/midlevel personnel with fluoroscopic procedures
  • Administers oral/rectal contrast during fluoroscopic exams
  • Administers IV contrast during GU studies
  • Assists patients as needed to obtain quality exams
  • Physically maneuvers/lifts (lifting is done with assistance from other staff members) patients to a standing position to perform x-ray exams
  • Physically maneuvers/lifts (lifting is done with assistance from other staff members) patients to an exam table to perform x-ray exams
  • Prepares exam rooms
  • Maintains clean and stocked exam rooms
  • Maintains clean radiographic/fluoroscopic equipment.
  • Assists in the appropriate transportation of patients as needed
  • Schedules Diagnostic Radiologic exams
  • Participates with the training of students in the educational radiologic technologist program
  • Performs general diagnostic radiography exams, including Fluoroscopy in OR, Endoscopy, and other appropriate areas.
  • Assists other staff in preparing room for procedure involving use of radiographic/fluoroscopic equipment.
  • Assists in the appropriate transportation of patients as needed
  • Performs portable radiographic exams Sacred Heart Site Specific Skillset Performs General Diagnostic Radiography and portable exams, including Fluoroscopy in OR, Endoscopy, ASC, SMAU, PACU, and other appropriate areas within all areas of a Level II Trauma Center to include: Traumas, N.A.T Bone Surveys, ER Trauma stretcher patients, ER Psych patients that require additional security, code PXCR, lumbar punctures, barium studies, complicated fluoro exams, Intrathecal chemo L.P., Urodynamics Study, bedside feeding tubes, Angio laser lead distraction, navigational bronchoscopy, postoperative PACU imaging
  • Performs portable x-rays using a C-arm in all areas of a Level II trauma hospital including St. Joseph’s Hospital, operating room, Endoscopy, ASC, Short-Stay, SHMC doctors building, or where requested.
  • Responsible for surgical C-arm and O-arm set up, operation, image transfer and disinfection process.
  • Proper startup/shutdown and reboot process with all equipment to include: Room 1: GE fluoro table and wall bucky Room 2: GE fluoro table and wall bucky Room 3: GE fluoro table and wall bucky Room 4: GE DR diagnostic room, table and wall bucky with auto tracking. Room 5: GE DR diagnostic room, wall bucky only with auto tracking. Room 6: Philips fluoro table, stationary c-arm ER room: GE DR diagnostic room with auto tracking. Portable Units: GE DR Portable Units: Cannon DR AGFA CR cassette readers GE C-Arms Medtronic O-Arms
  • Maintains clean radiographic/fluoroscopic equipment
  • Physically maneuvers/lifts (lifting is done with assistance from other staff members) patients in setting up patient for procedure involving radiographic/fluoroscopic examination.
  • Assists other staff in preparing room for procedure involving use of radiographic/fluoroscopic equipment.
  • Assists physician (non-radiologist) with fluoroscopic/C-Arm procedures.
  • Assists patients as needed to obtain quality exam.
  • Interacts with multi-system Radiology vendors and systems and responsible to understand all protocols
  • Performs exams in a high-volume, fast-paced environment that involves complex cases working with level II traumas.
  • This position may be scheduled to work in a hospital, urgent care or clinical setting.
  • Adheres to all DOH, TJC, Inland Imaging and partnering facilities policies and procedures.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality within the Inland Imaging companies and Inland’s customers.
