About The Position

The Radiologic Computed Tomography Technologist is responsible for providing high-quality patient care during Computed Tomography (CT) procedures and diagnostic imaging examinations using approved workflows and procedural protocols. Working under direct supervision, this position uses specialized computerized x-ray equipment to produce cross-sectional images of the human anatomy which aid radiologists in diagnosing a wide variety of diseases and disorders.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent; Graduate of a Radiology, Imaging or related educational program.
  • BLS (CPR)-American Red Cross or AHA Healthcare Provider.
  • Licensure/Certification/Registry/Listing: ARRT: RT(R)(CT), RT(N)(CT) NMTCB: CNMT, NMTCB(CT) Combination: ARRT RT(N) and NMTCB(CT) OR CNMT and ARRT(CT) OR ARRT RT(R) and NMTCB(CT) OR ARRT RT(T) and NMTCB(CT)

Responsibilities

  • Performs routine and special CT and diagnostic exams adhering to established protocols to minimize additional imaging and limit radiation dose, maintaining exam productivity within established benchmarks.
  • Follows instructions from physicians regarding which area of the patient’s body needs imaging.
  • Talks the patient through the procedure and answers questions to lower their anxiety and increase their understanding of the procedure.
  • Positions the patient correctly and adjusts the imaging equipment to the specified position to create quality images of specific parts of the body.
  • Reviews and assesses patient medical histories to determine appropriate imaging parameters for accurate results.
  • Operates and maintains advanced CT equipment, adhering to safety protocols and conducting regular maintenance checks to ensure precise and reliable imaging results.
  • Records and documents all CT scans and associated information in Computerized Health Information (CHL) and Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS), verifying charges and addressing discrepancies for smooth workflow.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
