About The Position

We are recruiting for a motivated Radiography Technologist - PRN to join our team! Under the direction of a radiologist, performs general radiographic examinations at a technical level not requiring constant supervision. Performs a variety of technical imaging procedures that entail application of ionizing radiation; therefore, prudent judgment, strong technical skills, and commitment to patient safety are considered requisite professional characteristics for individuals assuming the position as a general radiologic technologist.

Requirements

  • Post High School Diploma or Certificate Program AART required within 3 years of start date based on State of Colorado Statute.
  • Less than 1 year of professional work experience in performing general radiographic/fluoroscopic procedures.
  • BLS-Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) - AHA - American Heart Association or Red Cross Required.
  • RTR-RT Radiography - ARRT - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists.
  • Demonstrated knowledge in how to operate general radiographic equipment and related technology.
  • Demonstrated competency in the performance of general radiographic imaging studies.
  • Knowledge of how to address age-specific care needs of patients and effective interpersonal skill sets.
  • Competency in interpreting physician order requests for general radiographic imaging studies.
  • Ability to exercise prudent judgment in selecting and configuring equipment settings.
  • Ability to consistently produce quality images of various anatomical structures.
  • Ability to handle patient specimens and laboratory equipment.
  • Knowledge of safety and infection control practices.

Nice To Haves

  • Microsoft Office Suite experience required.
  • Electronic Health Management experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Performs high quality general radiographic/fluoroscopic imaging studies by selecting specific software parameters that will produce a quality image for use by radiologists in their determination of a diagnosis.
  • Scans all relevant clinical information into the PACS, assigns prioritization box for the radiologists' worklist, and then transmits current to the PACS immediately following examination completion.
  • Prepares and assists in administering contrast agents and determines any potential allergies to ensure compliance with departmental practices.
  • Uses Epic to input patient examination data and to place patient orders, when appropriate.
  • Ensures patient safety, comfort, and personal dignity by following appropriate patient care guidelines.
  • Transports patients to and from the Department of Radiology, as needed, to prevent patient flow delays.
  • Assists in the maintenance of department inventory by ordering, stocking, and performing inventory checks on medical supplies.
  • Attends and participates in departmental huddles, general intradepartmental meetings, and Radiology's inservices.
  • Maintains imaging and processing equipment by performing scheduled cleanings and tests; documents results appropriately.
