Schedule: Friday, Saturday Sunday 12p - 12a Job Description: Primary Responsibilities: Performs all aspects of diagnostic radiology to include trauma, orthopedic, fluoroscopy, G.U. contrast exams, operative and portable exams. Able to operate imaging equipment and other devices as appropriate. Positions patients to obtain anatomic information Calculates exposure factors and collimates correctly to reduce radiation exposure to patients. Practices radiation protection for patients and personnel. Evaluates images for technical quality and uses sound judgement to take additional images to better demonstrate pathology. Evaluates orders for appropriate history and clinical information and seeks guidance on correct exam if questionable. Reports all equipment malfunctions and hazards to appropriate supervisor. Interacts professionally and courteously with patients, co-workers, and medical staff. Assists in training of student radiographers. Utilizes time productively and appropriately with respect to patient flow, room use, stocking of supplies, and clerical duties to increase department efficiency. Ensures that patient wait times are minimized. Spends more than 90% of working time on productive tasks without supervisory prompting. Follows Universal Precaution guidelines with each patient. Attends yearly "Blood-borne pathogens/OSHA" inservice. Practices aseptic technique when necessary. Produces an accurate RIS and PACS record of each exam. Completes all Meditech entries and edits orders to reflect correct exam. Uses appropriate markers. Sends complete record to PACS on correct accession number. 6.Pursues continuing education by attending department and hospital wide programs, regional seminars, and/or college courses. Meets ARRT standards. b.Meets Massachusetts State licensing standards. Provides flexbility in rotating between all offsite locations Performs any task for which the employee is competent. Requirements

  • Two years of formal Radiologic Technology training.
  • Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists.
  • Licensed in radiography by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
  • Good interpersonal skills.
  • Requires standing, bending, pushing, pulling, reaching above the head, moving about the department and hospital, and/or lifting more than 75% of the time.
  • Exposure to radiation, infectious diseases, chemicals, and hazardous materials 75% of the time.
  • Ability to hear conversation, comprehend, and communicate in spoken and written English more than 75% of the time.
  • Ability to wear protective equipment, such as gloves, masks, gowns, and lead aprons.
  • Ability to work and move about in confined spaces.
