Summary: Radiographers are responsible for preparing and positioning patients for exams, knowing the operation of all diagnostic equipment and producing radiographs of acceptable quality to ensure that the examination/procedure is complete and ready for radiographic interpretation. This position is also responsible for the care of the patient while in his/her charge, and shall be able to assess the ongoing condition of the patient and call for any needed assistance. Patient population encompasses all age groups and medical/surgical diagnoses. Requirements

  • Licensed Maine Radiographer.
  • Completion of an accredited program in Radiography.
  • ARRT certification required.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to perform diagnostic studies on patients ranging from newborn to the geriatric individual.
  • Ability to cope effectively and to help others cope with stress.
  • Ability to work effectively and calmly under pressure or in emergency situations.
  • Ability to work with personnel and physicians from many areas and medical offices.
  • Good analytical skills.
  • Good problem solving skills.
  • Ability to work without full-time supervision.
  • Good eye-hand coordination.
  • Ability to move patients and equipment.
  • Excellent manual dexterity.
  • Good visual acuity.
  • Must take holiday and night call as assigned/scheduled.

Nice To Haves

  • National certification or additional experience in CT Scan, Mammography and/or Ultrasound preferred but not required.
  • Two years or more of experience in Radiography preferred but not required.
