About The Position

Under the general direction of the Department Supervisor and within established policies and procedures, the Cardiovascular Radiographer operates radiology equipment and assists physicians in diagnostic cardiac, interventional vascular, and electrophysiology (EP) procedures. This role ensures patient safety and comfort and oversees procedural preparation. Requirements

  • Graduate of an approved Radiologic Technological program
  • A.R.R.T. registered
  • Massachusetts Radiologic Technologist License
  • ACLS and current CPR certification
  • At least 1 years of experience in Cardiac Cath, EP or IR radiography
  • High-level knowledge of interventional radiology
  • Strong anatomy and physiology understanding
  • Proficiency in multitasking, organization, and attention to detail
  • Presentation and mentoring skills

Responsibilities

  • Prepares procedure rooms: Inspects cleanliness and equipment functionality. Stocks supplies and ensures readiness for procedures.
  • Prepares patients: Positions and supports patients for angiograms. Uses sterile technique and provides emotional support.
  • Performs interventional procedures: Operates ancillary equipment (e.g., balloon pumps, injectors). Follows protocols for cardiac catheterizations, vascular, and EP procedures.
  • Manages imaging systems: Operates imaging equipment and C-arm. Identifies and resolves image quality issues.
  • Documents procedures: Records ECG and hemodynamic data.
  • All responsibilities are essential job functions.
