Requirements

  • Bachelors in Electrical Engineering or equivalent combination of relevant education and experience.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience with design and testing of Automotive electrical systems - hardware, software, and systems.
  • Experience with vehicle network tools including CANalyzer.

Nice To Haves

  • Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field of study.
  • Experience with development/testing of wireless technology.

Responsibilities

  • Work with lead engineer to take responsibility for a subset of parts/requirements.
  • Lead design reviews with internal and external teams including suppliers.
  • Quality documentation development and reviews.
  • Ensure requirements such as FMVSS, ECE, and other regulatory or legal requirements are met including RF certification and homologation.
  • Packaging of receiver module to optimize RF reception.
  • Develop and execute design verification plan (DVP) for system on bench, HIL, and vehicle per program milestones requirements (DCV, PEC, FEC, etc).
  • Track status in FEDE and JIRA for issues.
  • Manage parts release in WERS.
  • Support programs through launch by leading issue resolution and presenting status to management.
  • Collaborate with IVI, body exterior, and Vehicle Operations teams to ensure interface and process/assembly requirements are met.
  • Travel to supplier facilities and Ford assembly plants as needed to support design reviews and launches of new products, APQP and PPAP approval.
  • Additional responsibilities may include the following: FEDE BOM, Netcom Message List, ARXML, Device Transmittal, VSCS, ED&T and Mountain Charts, ESOW Warranty Parts Center, weekly parts review with supplier.
  • Weekly Warranty reviews with supplier and PVT's Warranty parts tracking and data bases maintenance (Excel, Power BI, Sharepoint, etc).
  • Warranty reviews and presentation with management and program teams.
  • Work with Quality and FCSD departments on improvement initiatives.
