About The Position

The Radio Frequency Communications System Engineer will design, develop, modify, and evaluate complicated and difficult hardware devices or systems. The engineer will maintain technical responsibility for planning and conducting technical processes or phases of projects and coordinate the efforts of technical support personnel, drafters, technical writers, and electronics technicians, as required. The role involves developing and recommending design approaches for new or improved products and processes, consolidating the results of hardware design elements for assigned projects, and conducting independent technical investigations involving the origination or modification of material, component, or process specifications and requirements. Additionally, the engineer will evaluate vendor capabilities to provide required products or services and provide work leadership for lower-level employees.

Requirements

  • Experience with radio frequency communications systems, airborne or tactical radio equipment.
  • Experience with laboratory test equipment, including spectrum and network analyzer or oscilloscope.
  • Knowledge of antennas and transmission lines, serial and IP networking, and platform integration.
  • Knowledge of aircraft and ground systems, safety of flight, mission critical networks, and voice and data communications.
  • Ability to work on integrated project teams and interface with clients, vendors, and other contractors.
  • Ability to perform independently and complete tasks as needed.
  • Ability to obtain a Secret clearance.
  • Bachelor's degree.
