The Radiation Therapist applies ionizing radiation to the patient in accordance with the prescription, follows instructions of the Radiation Oncologist, prepares immobilization devices and/or shielding blocks for patients receiving treatment, and calculates mu from appropriate graphs, and utilizes computer plans. Performs dosimetry and calibration procedures as indicated. Responsible for upholding Dignity Health's visions, values and guiding principles. Responsible for maintaining positive morale levels in areas supervised. Communicates in a positive and effective manner with customers and staff. Responsible for technical knowledge of Radiation Oncology. Responsible for up keeping all stock and par level in the Radiation Oncology. Delivers accurately the prescribed planned course of Radiation Therapy with minimal supervision.
