About The Position

The Radiation Therapist is responsible for administering radiation therapy to Patients under direction of Chief Radiation Therapist and Radiation Oncology medical staff.

Requirements

  • High School diploma, GED or equivalent.
  • Graduate from an accredited radiation therapy program.
  • Will consider graduate therapist dependent on residency experience.
  • American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (A.R.R.T.) registry.

Nice To Haves

  • 2 plus years of experience as a Staff Radiation Therapist in Radiation Oncology Department or Center.

Responsibilities

  • Performs tumor localization procedures creating shells and molds, etc.
  • Performs daily linear accelerator warm-up procedures.
  • Checks photon beam and all electron beams for consistency. Checks physics components for accuracy of beam alignment.
  • Delivers accurately the prescribed planned course of radiation therapy. Observes Patients for unusual reactions and events.
  • Prepares Radiation Oncology treatment blocks and molds for patient treatment.
  • Transfers patients from wheelchairs and gurneys to linac/CT simulator couches.
  • Participates in the PI process.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
