About The Position

Join us as a Radiation Therapist at the VA Pittsburgh Healthcare System, located in Pittsburgh, PA. This is a full-time contract position. W-2 or 1099 employment options available. Inquire for more details. Duties include: Performing CT treatment planning scans for treatment planning/tumor localization, compensators, and customized patient immobilization devices. Deliver prescribed therapeutic radiation for the purpose of cancer therapy treatments. Operating CT scanners and Treatment Machines. Providing oversight, training, and encouragement to lower grade therapists. Scheduling treatments and simulations. Performing quality control of treatment machines. Practicing radiation safety for patients and staff. Schedule: Full-time, 7A-3:30P Mon-Fri. No call, weekends, or federal holidays. Overtime as needed. Period of Performance: 5 years (12-month base period w/ 4 renewal options) 5/15/2026-5/14/2031. Contract is renewed every 12 months. What we do: Monterey teams with general practice, specialists, and allied health practitioners nationwide to provide local coverage for examinees. We deliver a wide range of medical examination-only services to public sectors and the individuals they serve. Our clients include the Department of Veteran Affairs (VA), the Department of Labor, the Department of Defense, and more. Our provider network consists of over 700 providers in various medical specialties and degree types. They conduct diagnostic-only examination services on an as-needed basis. These services may take place in their private office, established clinics located across the country, or during travel opportunities for group screening events. Requirements

  • Education. Minimum high school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Licensure and certification. Current ARRT certification required. BLS or ACLS required.
  • Experience. Must be technically proficient in the skills necessary to fulfill the requirements of the position.
  • English Language Proficiency: In accordance with 38 U.S.C. 7402(f), no person shall serve in direct patient care positions unless they are proficient in basic written and spoken English.
  • Subject to background/security investigation.
  • Must pass TB test.
  • Complete an online onboarding process.
  • Willingness to comply with Department of Veterans Affairs vaccination programs for seasonal influenza and COVID-19.
  • Selective Service Registration is required for males born after 12/31/1959.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States.
