Requirements
- Associate’s Degree in Applied Science in Radiation Therapy
- NYS licensure registration in Radiologic Technology Radiation Therapy
- ARRT Radiation Therapy certification taken within 4 months, and passed within 6 months of employment.
- CPR certification within the first three months of hire

Responsibilities
- Administer radiation treatment of prescribed dose to the designated area to include reproducing patient position and plan parameters for each day of treatment.
- Perform patient simulations in collaboration with the radiation oncologist
- Fabricate immobilization devices
- Capture XVI and/or portal images as outlined in the treatment plan
- Measure diode readings as requested by the physician to verify treatment accuracy
- Accurately document treatment details and patient information in the electronic medical record (EMR)
- Schedule patients for treatment and simulation sessions
- Ensure accurate charge capture and billing for all procedures performed
- Fabricate blocks and cutouts for electron treatments as needed
- Perform daily morning warm-up and quality assurance checks on treatment equipment
- Alert the physician and nurse to any complications or patient concerns observed during treatment
- Operate the CT Big Bore for simulation and radiation planning purposes
- Participate in weekly chart rounds, monthly staff meetings, and other assigned departmental meetings
- Adhere to department scheduling requirements and demonstrate flexibility to meet patient care needs
