About The Position

The Radiation Therapist is an essential member of the Radiation Oncology treatment team who is responsible for implementing the physician’s prescription for treatment. The individual assists patients and families by being sensitive to the need for emotional support, as well as therapeutic treatment. The Radiation Therapist collaborates with other members of the multidisciplinary team to ensure quality care for Radiation Oncology patients. Requirements

  • A graduate of an approved twenty-four month curriculum based program in radiation therapy or an accredited bachelor level program in radiation therapy.
  • Certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) as a radiation therapist or certification obtained within six months of hire.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification awarded by the American Heart Association (AHA).

Nice To Haves

  • Two years previous work experience as a radiation therapist.
  • American Society of Radiologic Technologists (ASRT) membership.
