About The Position

Franciscan Health Munster Campus 701 Superior Ave Munster, Indiana 46321 The Radiation Therapist follows treatment plans and radiation practices and standards; positions patients for treatment; administers prescribed doses of radiation to specific body parts, using radiation therapy equipment to minimize the risk of damage to organs at risk. This position also educates, prepares, and reassures patients and their families by answering questions, providing physical assistance, and reinforcing physicians' advice regarding treatment reactions or post-treatment care. WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT Monday - Friday 8am-4:30pm Plan, manage and direct the coordination of radiation oncology care with the knowledge, quality applicable under the standards and policies of Cancer Center. Provide accurate radiation treatment to patients as prescribed by the radiation oncologist while also developing positive, trusting, caring and professional relationships with patients. Prepare and set up equipment to ensure immobilization, protection and precise treatment. Observe the patient’s progress throughout the course of radiation treatment.

Requirements

  • Radiation Therapy
  • Registered Radiation Therapist (ARRT-RTT) - within 90 days
  • State License - within 90 days
  • Basic Life Support Program (BLS) - American Heart Association - within 90 days
