About The Position

This position is for a Radiation Therapist in Oncology at Northwest Community Hospital in Arlington Heights, IL. It is a Per Diem role with hours based on department needs, typically Monday-Friday, starting at 7am - 4:30pm, with no weekend or holidays. The role involves simulating treatment set-ups, performing dosimetric calculations, and accurately delivering ionizing radiation as prescribed by the radiation oncologist, all under the general supervision of the System Manager, Radiation Oncology. The therapist also assists in patient care and management and adheres to clinical, technical, and operational policies and procedures. Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited Radiation Therapy program
  • At a minimum, must be a candidate for ARRT (R) (American Registry of Radiological Technology) (Radiology Therapy) certification
  • Must successfully complete certification exam and be registered within one year of start date into position
  • Current CPR Certification issued by the American Heart Association
  • IEMA (Illinois Emergency Management Agency) licensure

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience with Varian equipment
  • Previous experience with ARIA EMR
