Requirements

Education : Associate's degree preferred.
Previous Experience : One year of experience in radiation therapy highly preferred
Analysis & Critical Thinking : Critical thinking skills including solid problem solving, analysis, decision-making, planning, time management and organizational skills. Must be detailed oriented ability to exercise independent judgment, the ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations. Ability to assess patient needs and condition is essential.
Interpersonal Effectiveness : Developed interpersonal skills, emotional intelligence, diplomacy, tact, conflict management, delegation skills, diversity awareness. Ability to work effectively with sensitive and confidential material and sometimes emotionally charged matters.
Communication Skills : Effective communication skills (oral, written, presentation), is an active listener, and effectively provides balanced feedback. Fluency in the English language with excellent oral and written communication skills is required.
Customer Service & Organizational Awareness : Strong customer focus. Ability to build an engaging culture of quality, performance effectiveness and operational excellence through best practices, strong business and political acumen, collaboration and partnerships, as well as a positive employee, physician and community relations.

Certifications/Licenses : A valid Florida Certified Radiologic Technologist (CRT/RTT) license required.

Valid state Driver’s License for travel to satellite offices and offsite meetings.

SCREENINGS – Background, drug, and nicotine screens
All offers of employment at Florida Cancer Specialists & Research Institute are contingent upon clear results of a thorough background screening. Additionally, as a condition of employment, FCS requires all new hires to receive various vaccinations, including the influenza vaccine, barring an approved exemption. In addition, FCS is a drug-free workplace, and all new hires will be subject to drug/ nicotine testing. Medical Marijuana cards are not recognized.

Nice To Haves

Experience with hematology/oncology /radiation oncology patients in a clinic or hospital is a plus.

Responsibilities

Under the direction of the Dosimetrist, Radiation Therapy Physicist and/or the Radiation Oncologist, the Radiation Therapist will treat cancer and other diseases in patients by administering radiation treatments according to treatment plan.
The Radiation Therapist must maintain detailed records of all therapy sessions with strict adherence to safety responsibilities and guidelines.
