About The Position

Sentara is hiring a PRN Radiation Therapist/Radiation Oncology Tech to support the Sentara in Hampton Roads locations including: Brock Cancer Center Sentara Princess Anne Hospital Sentara Albemarle Medical Center Sentara Norfolk General Hospital Sentara Careplex Hospital Sentara Obici Hospital Shift: PRN/Flexi Overview Job Description Provide radiation therapy to patients as prescribed by a Radiation Oncologist according to established practices and standards. Duties may include but are not limited to: Deliver external beam radiotherapy to include (3D, IMRT, SRS/SBRT) Deliver brachytherapy treatment Perform patient simulations; preparing equipment, such as immobilization, treatment, and protection devices Reviewing patient records for accuracy Acting as liaison with physician and supportive care personnel Maintaining patient records, reports, and files All new graduates will remain Radiation Therapist I for the first 2 years of employment and are required to pass boards within 6 months of hire. Completion of an approved certification program prior to 2016 in lieu of Associates degree will also be considered.

Requirements

  • Associates Degree in Radiologic Technology REQUIRED
  • Required to pass boards within 6-months of hire
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification required within 90-days of hire
  • No experience required
