About The Position

This position involves performing procedures, setups, simulations, and prescribed treatments under the direction of the Radiation Oncologist, Physicist, or Lead Radiation Therapist to provide the highest level of care to Radiation Oncology patients. The role requires a commitment to teamwork, initiative, and adherence to work schedules and deadlines. The position is covered by a Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) with SEIU-UHW, requiring employees to join the union within 31 days of hire. The position was initially posted to ratified SEIU members and is now available to internal candidates and external candidates to Sharp.

Requirements

• Certified Radiation Therapy (T)(ARRT) - ARRT - REQUIRED.
• AHA Basic Life Support for Healthcare Professional (AHA BLS Healthcare) - American Heart Association - REQUIRED.
• Certified Radiologic Technologist (CRT) - CA Department of Public Health - REQUIRED.
• Satisfactory completion of formal training program in a JRCERT/CHEA approved school.

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor's Degree.
• 1 Year experience as a Certified Radiation Therapist in a physician's office or hospital setting.

Responsibilities

• Perform procedures, setups, simulations, and prescribed treatments under the direction of the Radiation Oncologist, Physicist, or Lead Radiation Therapist.
• Demonstrate initiative and teamwork.
• Follow instructions and work with minimal supervision.
• Participate in department improvement and problem resolution.
• Initiate supplies necessary for treatments and assist in inventory maintenance.
• Accurately charge billing for procedures and maintain cleanliness.
• Interpret and perform prescribed treatment plans.
• Maintain pre-treatment and treatment records.
• Operate simulator/mold and treatment equipment.
• Assist in preparation of weekly chart rounds and maintain daily treatment schedules.
• Fabricate immobilization/positioning and treatment devices.
• Photograph patients for documentation purposes.
• Achieve patient satisfaction targets.
