About The Position

Responsible for the daily operations of the Radiation Oncology Department. Responsible for scheduling of staff, repairs, technical quality, patient care, and process improvement within those areas of designated responsibility. Responsible to manage direct reports to include Radiation Therapists. What you will do Supervises the team by coaching staff and providing opportunities for growth and development. Provides a balance of staff advocacy while maintaining administrative support. Serves as a role model for staff and patient satisfaction. Onboards new radiation therapists in a positive and professional manner for a successful experience. Responsible for ensuring competency of staff. Performs direct report evaluations. Participates in process improvement, quality and safety initiatives. Keeps abreast of new technology and techniques. Supervises and performs a variety of technical and clinical procedures for applying radiation therapy. Demonstrates expert knowledge of linear accelerators, CT simulations, mold room, QA, on-call procedures and procedures for down equipment and other related equipment. Administers treatment and performs simulations with expertise. Serves as a role model and resource for documentation, accuracy, trouble-shooting difficult setups, consistent processes, and handoff of clinical information. Coordinates and manages daily operations to ensure quality, accuracy and efficiency. Ensures LINAC and CT schedules are managed efficiently and coordinated with other radiation oncology areas e.g patients are not kept waiting unnecessarily. Responsible for reviewing billing documentation, and coordination of machine QA and chart checks. Works with vendors, other departments and outside entities collaboratively. Maintains compliance with Riverside and governing body regulatory guidelines and accreditation standards and provides input in policy review. Prioritizes assignments to meet deadlines. Collects data to measure the quality of patient care and/or work processes. Working knowledge of policies and procedures.

Requirements

  • Bachelors Degree, Radiation Therapy (Required)
  • 2 years Radiation Therapist (Required)
  • Radiologic Technologists - The American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) Upon Hire(Required)
  • CPR/BLS Certification - American Heart Association/American Red Cross/American Safety and Health Institute (AHA/ARC) Upon Hire(Required)
