About The Position

The position is for a Radiation Therapist at Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center in the Oncology department. The role is full-time, requiring 40 hours per week on a day shift schedule from Monday to Friday, 8 AM to 4:30 PM, with on-call responsibilities for weekends and holidays on a rotating basis. The primary responsibility is to administer Radiation Therapy treatments in compliance with physician prescriptions and treatment plans, ensuring patient safety and accurate treatment records.

Requirements

  • ARRT registry-eligible or ARRT license.
  • IDNS license.
  • BLS Certified.
  • Radiation Oncology Certificate and/or Associate's degree in Radiation Therapy Technology.

Responsibilities

  • Administers Radiation Therapy treatments in compliance with physician prescription and treatment plan.
  • Maintains visual and audible contact with patients at all times.
  • Reports all errors to the Supervisor, Radiation Oncology.
  • Maintains accurate treatment records and assures proper billing and statistics.
  • Assists the physician in localizing tumor volumes using radiographic techniques.
  • Performs planning CTs as directed by the physician.
  • Creates an electronic patient chart according to Radiation Oncology standards.
  • Performs and records daily and weekly QA machine checks.
  • Assists in the orientation and education of patients regarding treatments and side effects.
  • Instructs and supervises Radiation Therapy students during their training.
  • Assures a safe, clean, and sanitary environment for patients and personnel.
