About The Position

The Radiology Therapy Technician applies ionizing radiation to the patient (inclusive of pediatric, adult and geriatric populations) in accordance with the prescription and instructions of the Radiation Oncologist and under the general supervision of the Chief Therapist. This position educates, prepares and reassures patients and their families by answering questions, providing physical assistance and reinforcing physicians' advice regarding treatment reactions and post-treatment care. This position also participates in the orientation and education of patients.

Requirements

  • Current registration as a Radiation Therapy Technologist (RTT) from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) or registry eligible.
  • Registry eligible new hires must take the certification test within the first 90 days and pass within the first 6 months.
  • Graduate of an AMA accredited School of Radiation Therapy Technology.

Nice To Haves

  • One (1) year of previous work experience as a Radiation Therapy Technologist.

Responsibilities

  • Apply ionizing radiation to patients as per the Radiation Oncologist's instructions.
  • Educate and prepare patients and their families regarding treatment and post-treatment care.
  • Answer questions and provide physical assistance to patients.
  • Participate in the orientation and education of patients.
