About The Position

Under the general supervision of the Technical Director, the Lead Radiation Therapist performs treatment planning simulations and administers a prescribed course of ionizing radiation to the cancer patients. The Lead Therapist is also responsible for overseeing the work of the Radiation Therapists, troubleshooting problems and quality assurance efforts on the unit to which he/she is assigned.

Requirements

  • Graduate of a program approved by the Council on Allied Health Education and Accreditation for Radiation Therapy Technology.
  • Board certified, or board-eligible with certification obtained within 6 months, in Radiation Therapy Technology by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists.
  • Current license as required by the State of Florida for Radiation Therapy Technology.
  • Obtain BCLS certification within 6 months of employment and maintain certification.
  • Minimum of two years experience as a Staff Radiation Therapist.
