As a Radiation Therapist I, you will play a vital role in making a difference in the lives of patients and advancing cancer care! Under the guidance of the Radiation Oncologist, you will perform Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) simulation procedures when applicable, following radiation therapy standards.

Requirements

• High School or equivalent; Post High School Vocational/Specialized Training in an accredited Radiation Therapy Education Program.
• 0-3 years of related experience, depending on training.
• Graduate of an accredited radiologic technology course plus radiation therapy course OR Graduate of an accredited Bachelor of Science in Radiation Therapy Program.
• Licensed by the California State Department of Health (Certified in Radiation Therapy).
• Certification by the ARRT - in Radiation Therapy CRT.
• BLS or CPR certification.

Responsibilities

• Deliver a prescribed and planned course of radiation therapy to patients of all ages.
• Reinforce recommendations given to patient by healthcare professional concerning reaction to treatment and care of radiated area, prevention, or treatment of generalized and local side effects.
• Perform simulation procedures as prescribed by physician and assist in dosimetry procedures.
• Perform daily quality assurance checks on linear accelerators, reporting any variation in morning warm-up.
• Report improper equipment operation to appropriate personnel.
