Radiation therapy, or radiation oncology, is quicker, safer and more precise than ever before. Radiation oncologists at CCCN use the most advanced treatment planning systems and state-of-the-art radiation technology to deliver internal and external radiation that helps prevent cancerous cells from growing or dividing, and potentially eliminates them. Career Opportunity: Comprehensive Cancer Centers of Nevada has an exciting opportunity for a Radiation Therapist Float to work within the Las Vegas, Nevada area. In this role, you will work with some of the best physicians in their fields while providing care to patients in a successful health care organization. Scope: Under direct supervision, administers radiation therapy treatments to patients. Accuracy in positioning the beam of radiation to correspond with the designated tumor volume and accurately delivering the prescribed dose are paramount job functions. Supports and adheres to the US Oncology Compliance Program, to include the Code of Ethics and Business Standards.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Graduate of an accredited radiation therapy technology program
  • Requires 0-3 years' experience actively practicing as an RTT
  • ARRT certification required
  • Must hold valid state license for radiation therapy

Responsibilities

  • Delivers and records radiation therapy treatments under the direction of a radiation oncologist and chief radiation therapist
  • Enters and maintains patient treatment parameters into electronic medical record.
  • Participates in clinical instruction of newly hired therapists and students
  • Assists in maintaining patient appointment schedule and submitting correct billing information
  • Cuts blocks, when applicable
  • Makes custom molds
  • Completes simple mu calculations
  • Interprets a computerized treatment plan
  • Maintains clean, safe, and organized work environment
  • Will float to various sites
