The Radiation Therapist at Elyria Cancer Center is responsible for directing daily operations in the treatment area, ensuring quality patient care, and promoting radiation therapy and safety standards. This role involves active patient care and collaboration with the Radiation Oncologist, Physicist, and Manager to deliver high-quality services.

Requirements

• License in State of practice in Radiation Oncology (required)
• Radiation Oncology Certification from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) (required)
• CPR Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation Certification (required)
• 1 year Experience in Radiation Therapy and CT Simulation (preferred)

Responsibilities

• Sets up treatment rooms, devices, and parameters as ordered by the Radiation Oncologist.
• Identifies patients and monitors them during treatment.
• Reinforces instructions and maintains patient markings.
• Positions patients according to prescriptions, requiring physical effort and mental application.
• Coordinates treatment area activities and scheduling.
• Documents thoroughly in treatment records.
• Performs simulations, brachytherapy procedures, and daily quality checks on equipment.
• Maintains equipment, reports problems, and observes radiation safety practices.
• Assists in treatment device changes and follows instructions from Radiation Oncologists.
• Performs ancillary duties, such as filing, answering phones, and monitoring supplies.
