The shifts will be at United Hospital (St Paul) or Abbott Northwestern Hospital (Minneapolis).

Requirements

  • Must be 18 years of age with education and/or experience needed to meet required functional competencies.
  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Registered Technologist - The American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) required upon hire.
  • Certification of JRCERT approved course in radiation therapy technology completion required.
  • Must meet at least ONE of the requirements below: Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association, Current BLS certification from the American Red Cross, or Allina in-house BLS training (within 90 days of hire).

Nice To Haves

  • 2 to 5 years in radiation therapy.

Responsibilities

  • Operate treatment machine to give prescribed dose and/or simulator to plan treatment field(s).
  • Properly deliver prescribed treatment/simulation technique.
  • Document treatment fields and set up.
  • Prepare room for patient treatment according to prescription.
  • Maintain records of daily patient treatments/treatment set up.
  • Report patient concerns and/or complications to provider.
  • Explain procedure to patient as required.
  • Report abnormal operation of equipment to physicist, CMS team and document in electronic tracking system.
  • Perform patient imaging per orders.
  • Create patient schedules.
  • Submit charges according to services provided per protocol/policy.
  • Identify risk to self and others and utilize preventative measures or take corrective action.
  • Recognize and respond to environmental emergencies.
  • Instruct radiation therapy students in all aspects of clinical training.
  • Other duties as assigned.
