Requirements

• High School Diploma or Equivalent
• Up to 1 Year of Clinical Experience
• Kansas LRT State License
• American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT)
• Basic Life Support

• Bachelor's Degree
• 5 Years of Position-Related Experience

Responsibilities

• Administers targeted doses of radiation as prescribed by a radiation oncologist.
• Assists in preparing sealed radioactive materials.
• Calculates actual treatment dosages.
• Prepares equipment such as immobilization, treatment and protection.
• Checks patient information.
• Prepares room and equipment.
• Communicates with patients and families.
• Transports and transfers patients.
• Performs radiation treatments.
• Coordinates treatment and surgery schedules.
• Monitors patient vitals.
• Maintains department supplies.
• Keeps records.
• Assists with teaching.
