The Radiation Physics Associate at Regions Hospital plays a crucial role in supporting the senior medical physicist and Radiation Safety Officer in achieving institutional radiation physics goals. This position involves implementing radiation safety and protection programs, executing quality control procedures, and optimizing image quality. The associate will work collaboratively within a team of physicists and will be responsible for ensuring high-quality healthcare delivery in a patient-centered environment.

Responsibilities

• Support the senior medical physicist and Radiation Safety Officer in institutional radiation physics goals.
• Implement the radiation safety and protection program.
• Execute quality control procedures for imaging modalities.
• Optimize image quality across various imaging services.
• Collaborate with a team of physicists and other professionals in the organization.

Requirements

• Technical degree in radiological science, nuclear medicine technology, or equivalent.
• Two years of experience as a radiologic technologist, nuclear medicine technologist, or equivalent.
• Registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) or equivalent, or certified as a nuclear medicine technologist by the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB), AART, or equivalent.

Nice-to-haves

• Bachelor's degree in radiological science, nuclear medicine technology, or equivalent.
• Five years of experience as a radiologic technologist, nuclear medicine technologist, or equivalent.
• Administrative or project coordination experience.
• Leadership and independent critical thinking skills.
