About The Position

Port City Veterinary Referral Hospital is seeking a dedicated and skilled Certified Veterinary Technician to join our Radiation Oncology team at our beautiful Portsmouth, NH location! As a veterinary technician supporting our Oncologist(s), you will play a key role in assisting with treatments, diagnostic procedures, and compassionate care for patients. Your professionalism, patience, and kindness will shine as you provide exceptional support to clients both in person and on the phone.

Requirements

• Certified Veterinary Technician (LVMT, CVT, LVT, or RVT) with at least 1+ year of veterinary hospital experience.
• Strong understanding of veterinary medicine and disease processes.
• Technical skills: Phlebotomy, catheterization, anesthetic monitoring, patient restraint, radiographs, lab work, pharmacology, medication, and fluid/oxygen administration.
• Fluent English skills (speaking & reading) are required for the role.

Nice To Haves

• Radiation oncology experience preferred, but not required.

Responsibilities

• Guide clients and patients through their visits, working closely with our board certified radiation oncologist and anesthesiologist ensuring exceptional care.
• Participate in patient assessments, diagnostics, treatments, and diverse array of cutting-edge procedures.
• Monitor anesthesia, sedations, and therapy protocols including SRT, IMRT, VMAT, IGRT, and palliative therapies.
• Serve as a patient advocate, providing compassionate care and ensuring their comfort and safety during their stay.
