Radar Test Engineer

JT4Las Vegas, NV
$80,000 - $135,000

About The Position

The Engineer will work primarily within research and development engineering groups with responsibility for a wide variety of tasks. The primary tasking will be a variety of testing tasks using radars. We are looking for engineers with entry to master level skill sets who work well in both theoretical and practical domains as part of an iterative process to create innovative solutions for a multitude of relevant domain challenges as partially described below. These positions generally require the following abilities which are usually performed within an office environment but also in the field: Calculate RF link budgets and expected interference levels for various test scenarios and geometries. Analyze radar signal to noise levels to determine if specified mission criteria can be met. Determine which specific radar and other technical data must be made available and collected to satisfy specified mission requirements. Understand and apply the radar range equation. Develop physics based models of RF systems Develop comprehensive test plans and test reports Perform RF signal analysis. Track known radar data over time to statistically determine the health of various radar systems and components. Analyze radar data and statistically determine any anomalies when compared against expected values. Convey complex radar-related information in both written and spoken form for personnel with limited domain knowledge. Determine which signal processing techniques and algorithms to use to process radar returns. Statistical analysis and visualization of large, complex datasets MATLAB, Python and other similar related tools Work independently on multiple tasks In addition, in a general sense, there may also be other assignments available in planning, performing, and overseeing research, design, development, production, testing, installation, integration, sustainment, operation, and maintenance of radar equipment used for radar testing. The Engineer will may also independently perform a range of design, development, analysis, or review tasks under generally established project deadlines.
