About The Position

Boeing Defense Space & Security has an exciting opportunity for a Radar Target Generator Design Engineer for Flight Simulation Labs, located in Berkeley, MO. The Flight Simulation Labs organization has expertise supporting marketing, design, development, integration, test and training objectives for Boeing military aircraft such as T-7, F-15, F-18, and MQ-25. As a Radar Test Station Design Engineer, you will be a part of a team of engineers who develops, upgrades, maintains integration test sites and their subcomponents for use in avionics systems integration laboratories (SILs). You will utilize engineering processes, methodologies, and tools to create and refine hardware designs, specifications, and architectures for various radar test stations and systems, ensuring alignment with program requirements and objectives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement.
  • 5+ Years of experience in engineering.
  • 3+ Years of experience in modern radar systems.
  • Comprehensive understanding of circuit design, working with schematics, databases, PCs.
  • Knowledgeable in RF and Microwave design.
  • Familiar with Digital Radio Frequency Memory (DRFM).
  • Aware of Real Time systems constraints.
  • Radar Integration experience.
  • Understanding of field-programmable gate array (FPGA).

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with hardware/software integration and testing.
  • Experience in working with and developing embedded hardware/software architectures.
  • Experience with internal Radar operation.
  • Experience with Radar testing.
  • Experience with VPX racks and embedded PCs.
  • Experience in Agile Methodologies and tools.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze customer and system requirements to develop basic architectural approaches and detailed specifications needed in various SIL test sites / common products for new systems as well as upgrades to existing equipment located in STL as well as at remote locations.
  • Develop high-level and detailed designs consistent with these requirements and specifications.
  • Develop and maintain Radar test station hardware.
  • Validate designs through various methods of analysis, peer review, standalone testing.
  • Identify, track and status technical performance measures to gauge progress / ensure requirement compliance.
  • Support supplier management with make/buy recommendations and other technical services such as fabrication.
  • Integrate designs into existing SILs infrastructure.
  • Provide engineering support to stakeholders throughout the lifecycle of these and existing SIL products.
  • Investigate emerging technologies to develop concepts for future product designs to meet projected requirements.
  • Significant internal and external customer interaction.
  • Maintain configuration management of test station hardware and software.
