As a Radar Software Engineer at Torch Technologies, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of military technology and innovation. This position is based at the Redstone Arsenal, where you will work in state-of-the-art laboratories alongside a government-led team. Your primary responsibility will be to support the development of an existing Government radar tracker and correlator software suite. This involves reformatting existing code to ensure compatibility with Linux systems, modernizing software libraries, and overhauling the Graphical User Interface (GUI). The goal is to completely redesign and streamline a currently fielded solution, focusing on long-term maintainability and support. In this role, you will assess and understand legacy C++ code, collaborating with a dedicated team to update and modernize software components. You will design new implementations for existing software to ensure cross-platform compatibility, particularly on Linux-based systems. Additionally, you will integrate backend components into a more modern GUI approach and redevelop software components that currently rely on the Microsoft Foundations Class (MFC) using more contemporary libraries. This position requires a strong background in software development and verification, as well as knowledge of basic radar principles from a software perspective.
