Leidos' Defense Systems Sensor Innovation Portfolio is seeking a Radar Signal Processing Engineer to join our team to create unique solutions for complex sensor and radar oriented problems. This position affords new or experienced engineers continued opportunities to learn and grow in technical knowledge of sensor and radar systems. The department encourages and frequently incorporates new ideas from all employees into our many sensor projects which span the entire DoD ecosystem. Opportunities for advancement into senior technical roles, as well as project or personnel management are also available.

  • Support Advanced Technology Radar and EW programs including research and development of advanced digital signal processing (DSP) algorithms, high-fidelity radar and RF modeling, simulation, and analysis.
  • Integration and field testing of RF sensors and systems; and CONUS/OCONUS deployment of advanced sensor systems.
  • Quickly immerse into radar and sensor phenomenology and existing tools and models to begin contributing to new features.
  • Perform a variety of tasks related to signal processing, measurement tracker processing, system performance metrics, sensor simulation, or utility tools as part of larger efforts or customer goals.
  • Manage multiple tasks while ensuring the work remains compatible with the group's larger codebases.
  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, physics, or math from an accredited institution with at least 4 -8 years prior relevant experience OR a Master's degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, physics, or math with 2-6 years prior relevant experience.
  • Good organizational skills, attention to detail, and a strong technical background.
  • Demonstrated experience developing and leading a team of talented employees to provide high-end technical services in a competitive environment.
  • Enabling technologies including radar and EW, signal processing and tracking, physics modeling & simulation, analytical tool development, and data analysis.
  • Excellent math skills and/or good fundamentals in one or more of the following: signals and systems, digital signal processing, tracking algorithms, electromagnetics.
  • Ability to apply skills to radar modeling & simulation, antenna array theory, digital signal processing, tracking, algorithm development, and field testing of sensor systems.
  • Demonstrated experience in understanding, evaluating, and implementing published scientific literature from sources such as IEEE.
  • Experience working with Matlab, Python, or similar scientific-based programming tools.
  • Experience in radar system development and/or modeling.
  • Experience in high performance computing languages such as C++.
  • Experience in development or operations of radar HWILs.
