SEG supports the US Navy and Missile Defense Agency (MDA) by performing trade studies, design prototyping, and analysis of radars, EO/IR sensors, seeker systems, electronic warfare systems, and weapon systems. We are seeking an experienced radar systems modeling engineer to support the development and execution of radar and/or RF seeker simulations, add new capabilities to existing simulations, and deliver the simulations to both support internal analysis and as inclusion in deliverable simulations to our government customers and end-users. The engineer will be responsible for understanding customer requirements, demonstrating the capability to customers and stakeholders, and potentially leading a team of engineers and software developers to design and develop these simulation solutions. The engineer will be expected to prioritize new simulation tool capabilities while maintaining existing ones. The ideal candidate has 10 to 20 years of radar systems engineering experience, including radar system modeling and simulation, design, test, and analysis.

  • Support the development and execution of radar and/or RF seeker simulations.
  • Add new capabilities to existing simulations.
  • Deliver simulations for internal analysis and for government customers and end-users.
  • Understand customer requirements and demonstrate capabilities to customers and stakeholders.
  • Lead a team of engineers and software developers in designing and developing simulation solutions.
  • Prioritize new simulation tool capabilities while maintaining existing ones.
  • Must be a US citizen with a background permitting the issuance of a Secret clearance.
  • Bachelor of Science degree in a technical discipline such as Engineering, Physics, or Mathematics.
  • At least 5 years of experience in the design or analysis of sensor systems, seekers, electronic warfare systems, or weapon systems.
  • Strong people skills and technical leadership experience.
  • Proficiency in MATLAB and/or Python.
  • Detailed experience modeling radar systems that support MDA and Navy missions.
  • Experience performing radar system modeling, performance prediction, and data analysis.
  • Experience with Digital Signal Processing and/or Digital Beam Forming.
  • Familiarity with electronic attack and protection techniques.
  • Radar engineering analysis, including the use of Blake charts.
  • Strong understanding of RF propagation.
  • Graduate-level coursework and/or hands-on project experience in radar systems and radar signal processing.
  • Prior experience with sensor HW design, signal processing, tracking algorithms, and/or resource management.
  • Experience in development of simulation tools and test tools for sensor analysis.
