Raytheon’s Air & Space Defense Systems (ASDS) strategic business unit (SBU) specializes in multi-domain integrated air and missile defense, advanced sensors, space-based systems, hypersonics, effectors and cyber solutions. Focused on program execution, business growth and the highest level of customer satisfaction, the ASDS team provides customers with unmatched capabilities of detection and sensing, command and control, and air-to-air, air-to-surface, and surface-to-air munitions to accomplish air, space and missile defense missions. The ASDS SBU Engineering team is currently hiring for a Senior Principal Engineer to perform in the role of Radar Integrated Product Team Lead (IPTL) for the Qatar Early Warning Radar (QEWR) program. As the QEWR Radar IPTL you’ll work closely with the Engineering, IPT Leadership and Program Management teams to plan and execute strategies in the areas of Radar Operations, Integration, and Test. You will apply disciplined program management processes and utilize tools to establish and monitor metrics and trends to ensure excellence in execution. In this role, you will drive technical, schedule, and cost performance while delivering a product which is compliant with the contract. This involves developing solutions which are the best fit for the overall program performance, supportability and long-term sustainment. The candidate must be able to clearly communicate status, issues and resolutions to leadership on matters that significantly impact program success. This is an onsite role located in Woburn, MA.

Requirements

  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 10 years of prior relevant experience
  • Experience with project/program management tools, systems, and/or methodologies
  • Experience with Earned Value Management System (EVMS), Integrated Master Plan (IMP) / Integrated Master Schedule (IMS), and/or Risk and Opportunity Management
  • Experience with proposal or capture efforts
  • Experience presenting to customer and/or senior stakeholders
  • Active and transferable U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date.
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance
  • Security Clearance: Secret - Current

Nice To Haves

  • Active DoD clearance
  • Experience leading cross functional teams including members from Engineering, Operations, Global Supply Chain, and/or Quality through hardware development, production and test including system test.
  • Experience in Sustainment and Test engineering disciplines.
  • Experience executing DoD sustainment and/or product support activities.
  • Experience with radar and/or sensor systems, or other advanced electronic systems.
  • Experience with AF / DoD Radar Programs.

Responsibilities

  • Manage Integrated Product Teams
  • Oversight of engineering activities across all functional groups supporting the QEWR contract.
  • Responsible for managing the radar engineering program scope of over $25M in value
  • Ensuring cost and schedule for on time delivery of test integration to meet the radar mission, contractual obligations, and customer expectations.
  • Interacting daily with other cross-discipline teams to meet program goals and objectives while driving on-time and on-budget performance.
  • Frequent interaction with the customer community, the program office, functional and technical leaders.
  • Setting an effective communication cadence among all engineering leads.
  • Early identification of risks and opportunities, along with mitigation and capture plans.
  • Leading efforts to support Customer Meeting and Data Delivery cadence.
  • Partnering with the leads including chief engineers and technical leads to provide the most cost-effective technical solutions.
  • Establish open and effective communication with team members, ensuring team cross training, mentoring and growth opportunities.
  • Attending regular customer working groups and ensuring a positive customer relationship.
  • Supporting strategic efforts to identify and advocate for future radar operations, integration, and test needs and best practices to improve our system operability.
  • Regular review of program status including tracking and review by both Engineering and Program Leadership.
  • Responsibility for proposal efforts, negotiations and reviews for any new scope and any potential contract modifications to ensure success and growth for the business.
  • Work closely with Strategic Business Units to identify and capture new opportunities.
  • Travel as needed to support the Program (~10% travel, mostly domestic w/ 1 international trip per year)
