Discover all the possibilities of a career at Northside today. Responsibilities Inserts intravenous lines in preparation for radiologic studies. Performs imaging for myelograms and therapeutic chemotherapy, venograms, arthrograms, and other studies requiring intravenous or subdural injection of contrast medium. May assist physician with biopsy and aspiration procedures, practicing sterile technique as required. Sets up sterile trays with all supplies and instruments required for procedures. Provides on-call support for Operating Room and GI Lab as scheduled. Provides assistance with transportation of patients to and from Emergency Room and In-Patient areas. Performs portable x-ray imaging as ordered. Performs routine radiographic examinations in accordance with specific operating instructions and safety standards. Determines proper technical factors and adjusts radiographic equipment accordingly. Assesses patient condition throughout procedure and observes for adverse reactions. Recognizes and responds to emergency situations according to departmental procedures. Practices proper safety techniques in accordance with hospital and departmental policies and procedures. Immediately reports any mechanical or electrical equipment malfunctions, unsafe conditions, or employee/patient/visitor injury accident to manager. Qualifications KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES/LICENSE OR CERTIFICATION REQUIRED Graduate from an accredited program in Radiologic Technology. Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT). Must hold certification in American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS). KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES/LICENSE OR CERTIFICATION PREFERRED Prior experience in diagnostic radiology. Additional Life Support credential (ACLS, PALS, NRP, etc.) or other clinical specialty certifications in specific units. Visual color acuity depending on the role in specific units. Work Hours: Mon-Thursday 830PM-7AM Weekend Requirements: No On-Call Requirements: No
