About The Position

Nemours Children's Health is seeking a RAD Tech to join our Radiology team in Glenn Mills, PA! Schedule: Week 1 -Sun 9-9p and Thurs-Fri 4-11p Week 2 Mon-Tues 4-11p and SAT 9-9p The Radiology Technologist will perform x-ray procedures including fluoroscopic procedures under the direction of a physician with established methods and procedures, is responsible for patient care, proper operation of all general diagnostic equipment. The Radiology Technologist should report to the Diagnostic Radiology Manager who reports to the Radiology Director of Operations. The Radiology Technologist is responsible for participation in departmental and hospital programs for Quality Assessment and Improvement, identifying opportunities to improve services, making recommendations, and implementing actions as appropriate and consistent with the goals of Nemours. The Radiology Technologist is a clinically essential in person associate for the hospital; therefore, the technologist will make every attempt possible to report for work in the event of inclement weather or for a code delta event requiring extra resources. Responsible for Patient/caregiver interactions and provide accurate preparation instructions to patient/caregiver with the ability to answer pertinent procedural questions. Knowledge of Diagnostic Imaging protocols, radiation safety, and a working knowledge of all radiology equipment. Responsible for patient identification, proper identification of all images, PACS interaction and documentation. Operates hospital computer system for patient data entry and retrieval. Responsible for the preparation, administration, and documentation of contrast media per departmental protocols. Responsible for screening of patients to be imaged for contraindications that may be hazardous to their health or to the safety of others. Must have the ability to work well with others, act as a team member. Ability to work independently and engage in critical thinking to improve the quality of care. Aids in the training of new associates and students. Ensure proper function of equipment by proper usage and maintenance. Reports on unsafe conditions and incidents. Must be able to work a flexible schedule. Good communication skills are required. In addition to accepting feedback, asking questions and active communication with counterparts and all departments.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited ARRT program required.
  • Completion of clinical hours in an accredited ARRT program required.
  • ARRT registration required within 90 days of hire.
  • State License eligible. State of Delaware Radiology Technologist license required within 90 days of hire.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) through the American Heart Association is required upon hire.
  • Knowledge of Diagnostic Imaging protocols, radiation safety, and a working knowledge of all radiology equipment.
  • Must have the ability to work well with others, act as a team member.
  • Ability to work independently and engage in critical thinking to improve the quality of care.
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule.
  • Good communication skills are required.
